Grand Master Constant Chevillon is an emblematic figure of Egyptian Freemasonry, having played a decisive role in the dissemination and promotion of its ideals.
His unique vision incorporated mystical and esoteric elements, thus redefining traditional Masonic practices.

A Legacy and a Call to Tradition
Constant Chevillon joined Freemasonry around 1913. It was during this time that he met Gérard Encausse, better known as Papus, founder and Grand Master of the Martinist Order. A prominent figure in the esoteric and spiritualist thought of his time, Chevillon met a tragic fate: he was assassinated on March 25, 1944.
Abducted from his home that same evening by Jacques Doriot's MNAT (National Anti-Terrorist Movement), under the pretext of an "interrogation," his body was found that night in the suburbs of Lyon, shot several times. The site of his execution was sadly known for having been the scene of several similar crimes.
